Washington Football Team gives Morgan Moses permission to seek trade

Morgan Moses' career with the Washington Football Team is likely over, as he was given permission to seek out a trade.

For the upcoming season, Moses is due $7.75 million, all of which would be transferred over to any trade partner's salary cap. He is also due $7.75 million for the 2022 season. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, if Moses is unable to find a trade partner, Washington will likely cut him, as it would only cost the team $1.9 million in dead cap to release him.

Moses was drafted by Washington in the third round of the 2014 draft. By his second season, he had won the starting right tackle job and held onto the position ever since, starting 96 straight games for Washington. While he has not been named to a Pro Bowl, Moses is quietly considered one of the most solid right tackles in the entire NFL, with PFF ranking him as the 15th best overall tackle in 2020.

Washington drafted tackle Samuel Cosmi in the second round this year, so he will likely be replacing Moses as the team's starting right tackle to begin the season.
